Bountiful Sausage Balls

Dear Friends and Readers- I had the greatest time this weekend trying to make familiar Game Day snacks using new ingredients.  The one I'd like to feature in this blog is what I am calling Bountiful Sausage Balls.

One of Nick's favorite Game Day treats is Sausage balls.  I was also planning to make some Bountiful Beer Bread- Tastefully Simple's most popular item.  I decided however, that I would try to make Sausage Balls using the Bountiful Beer Bread.  THEY WERE AMAZING AND SO SO SIMPLE!

Recipe~
1 package of Tastefully Simple Bountiful Beer Bread
1lb ground sausage- browned
2 cups Monterey Jack Cheese, shredded, but chunks would work too
12oz dark beer ( I used Guinness Draught)

Pour the beer into a mixing bowl and then add the Bountiful Beer Bread mixture.  Stir for 30 seconds.  Add the cooked sausage and the cheese and fold into the batter.  I greased cupcake liners and filled them with the mixture.  I baked them in a pre-heated oven, 350 F for 35-40 minutes.  I removed the papers before serving.

* I was not thorough enough with the cooking spray and some of the liners stuck to the roll, but with a little extra work I was able to get them off.

They did not spread, so I think you could also grease a cookie sheet and place the uncooked balls on them for baking.

For a little butter flavor, try brushing the uncooked sausage rolls with a little butter prior to baking and then again immediately after removing them from the oven. Hope you try this out for your next Game Day!  Contact me if you need to submit an order for your Bountiful Beer Bread so that you can try this tasty recipe!
